A Small Frame, A World of Nature

Fomjia is a small independent studio based in Italy, formed by designers and fine arts graduates from Italy and China. Our work is rooted in a shared love of design, craftsmanship, and the natural warmth of wood.

The story began with my friend Mia and me. In the years after university, we explored different kinds of work and sometimes felt uncertain about the future. What always brought us back together was our passion for design, making things by hand, and spending time in nature. We both love travelling beyond the city—to forests, mountains, fields, and quiet landscapes—and those experiences eventually inspired us to create Fomjia.

To us, wood is more than a material. Its grain, texture, and natural variations carry a quiet energy that can comfort the mind and bring us closer to the natural world. Whenever I touch wood, I feel a sense of calm, as though a small part of nature is resting in my hands.

We wanted to bring that feeling into everyday living spaces. Through thoughtful design and careful craftsmanship, we transform wood into small art frames that carry warmth, creativity, and traces of nature into the home.

Though compact in size, each Fomjia frame holds something much larger: our love of design, our memories of nature, and the vision behind every handmade detail. A small frame cannot contain an entire forest or landscape, but it can offer a quiet connection to that larger world.

This is the heart of Fomjia: creating a bridge between nature and your living space—turning wood into art and bringing the calm, warmth, and energy of nature into everyday life.
